One is the ever-present threat of oil drilling off the shores of our state. I have introduced legislation to ban offshore drilling because I believe the economic and environmental risks are too great. I am also concerned about how Washington shortchanges Florida taxpayers who are not receiving their fair share of fed- eral funds. I have introduced legislation to require the use of updated census data in dozens of federal programs. Floridians, like most Americans, are concerned about the state of the econ- omy, higher taxes, ever-growing government spending, overbur- densome government regulation, and health care.
